It is with great sadness that we report one of our volunteers, Emma, passed away last week.
Emma was a huge supporter of our work and was at many of our events, using her experience to support others and help shape the future of services throughout Kent.
Emma will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Not only was she a great volunteer, but she was an amazing friend to so many.
To commemorate Emma's birthday on Tuesday the 9th, a large gathering got together in Canterbury. We sang Happy Birthday to her and set free balloons, each carrying a heartfelt message from those who loved Emma.
The coming days, weeks and months will be difficult for everyone that knew Emma. No more so than her partner, Tony who is also a volunteer for us here at ROAR. Tony will be writing a piece about Emma and her story which will post here, please look out for it. She was a true inspiration.
ROAR and our dedicated volunteers will continue to battle against the stigma of substance use, mental health challenges, pain, and heartbreak. We will forever use our experiences to offer support to those who are still struggling.

If you would like to donate to Emma's Memorial Fund, organised by Tony, to help towards funeral costs etc. please go to https://gofund.me/23cd5ece
For additional support, use the Reach Out service at forwardtrust.org.uk or call The Samaritans on 116 123.
